I really did drop the documents off at Tacy's front door as stated and his front porch really did look as described -- newspapers all around and an empty fifth of whiskey on the floor. I took careful note of the brand, Inverhouse. Not being a whiskey drinker (I was always a beer and ale fiend in my drinking days), I had never heard of the brand. But it really happened, I did not make it up for comedic purposes.

Don't worry, folks -- more sickening dirt than you can ever hope to imagine will come spilling out from the fallout of all of this. The power boys are playing hardball. Even I have had an attempt at blackmail aimed at me in the prior weeks.

Somebody will be off council as a result of all of this, but as to whether it's Martin and Lang or Tacy, it depends how it plays out.

As for the Herald-Trib, nice job. Couple of hacked stories and you've managed to bring a city to its knees. I've always wanted to do that, I just never thought of printing falsehoods. Hell, if I'd have known it was that easy, I'd have tried it.
