lol. there is a difference here. i routinely update and change articles on rewrites, but i freely admit it. if there is a mistake, i try to quickly go in before too many people notice it and fix it. if i get called out on it, like you are now, no prob -- yeah, i did that. kind of hard to nail someone when they admit they changed the text. with the herald-trib, they froze like a deer in the headlights and then denied it. we're journalists, we get shit wrong sometimes. fix it asap and move on, if someone calls you on it, admit it and move on.
i strive for accuracy daily and i fix shit as i go along. hell, i've edited stories that were three years old or more to fix minor errors that i never spotted before. i couldn't tell you what they are now, but if you point them out, i'll cop to it. it's no big thing to make a mistake, fix it, and admit it if someone calls you out on it. admitting to fixing an error is not a big deal to me. i truly do not understand the herald-tribune anymore, though.
